A pharmacy in High Barnet is teaching people about the signs of diabetes next week.
Wilkinson Pharmacy, in the High Street, is helping customers to identify the signs of diabetes during Diabetes Awareness Week, which starts on Sunday.
The staff will be offering quick checks to establish whether people have symptoms that could be a sign of the onset of the condition.
Naresh Maini, who works in the pharmacy, said: “It can be quite a shock if you suddenly find you’re living with diabetes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be healthy and have a normal, enjoyable life.
“My staff and I will provide support and advice about living with and managing the condition.
“Popping in for a check is time well spent. Even people who are found to be clear, can benefit from the lifestyle and health advice we can give to help reduce the risk of getting the disease in the first place.”
Symptoms of diabetes include fatigue, dehydration, weight change, blurred vision and dizziness.
