NHS North Central London has announced that it has received approval to proceed with the refurbishment of Brunswick Park Health Centre.
In January 2010 the centre was destroyed by a fire and the NHS has been waiting for the insurance claim to be settled and for approval to be granted before renovation could take place.
Building work began yesterday and will take about six months.
The work will create a modern centre for the community with more space and facilities than existed before the fire.
Tony Hoolghan, associate director of primary care for NHS North Central London said: “The refurbishment of Brunswick Park Health Centre will improve primary care service for local patients.
“Not only will the building have more space and facilities, but we are also in discussions about what additional services could be provided from Brunswick Park Health Centre.”
