Parents and children protesting against the closure of a Barnet library held a small demonstration outside its entrance on Saturday.
Members of the Save Friern Barnet Library group held placards opposing Barnet Council’s plans to shut down the service on April 5.
The authority plans to close the library and move its services to the Arts Depot in Nether Street, Finchley.
Fiona Cochrane, chairman of the Save Friern Barnet Library Group, believes Saturday’s event sent a clear message that the community is still passionate about saving the service.
She said: "Our local residents have shown that the public library service is better served open than closed and we are very concerned that we are now facing an indeterminate period of time without library provision for the local area.”
