BARNET Hospital Radio kicked off a week celebrating the medium with an interview with one of their ex-DJs on Sunday.
Gold Radio DJ Dean Martin, who started his broadcasting career from the Wellhouse Lane studios, popped in to catch up with his old station.
This year’s National Hospital Radio Week marks the 85th anniversary of dedicated hospital broadcasting in the UK.
During the week the station will have a display in the main foyer and a drive to find more volunteers to help run the station.
Chairman Bob Henderson said: “Normally our request collectors just visit the wards and collect requests directly from the patients.
“The display of our work in the main hospital reception gives our staff the opportunity to get the visitors to choose the music for the patients this week.”
