POLICE have released images of a group of men suspected to have burgled around £20,000 of religious artefacts from synagogues across the borough.
Items were taken from Golders Green Reform in Dunstan Road, Sadigura synagogue in Golders Green Road and Ohr Chodosh synagogue in Brentmead Place on January 15, March 7, 16 and 17.
Members of the Jewish community are asked to be aware some of the pieces of solid silver could be offered to residents.
The items include bells, candelabras each containing five candlesticks, a goblet which is one foot in length and several smaller ones around 10cm in length, a silver chess set, trays, breast plates, pointers and crowns.
Detective Constable Paul Richardson of Barnet CID said: "We have liaised closely to ensure places of worship are aware these criminals are active.
“But it is important the local community is also given the information, so police can be alerted if this property is being circulated.
“If people give us information we do all we can to ensure that this property is returned and those responsible brought to justice."
Anyone who recognises the men or is aware the religious items are being offered for sale should contact police on 0300 123 1212 or call CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800 555 1111 quoting the reference: 2401181/11.
