THE £8million carriageway developments to smooth traffic flow at Henlys Corner will begin early next month.
Transport for London (TfL) has already started work on footways and grassed areas around the junction in Finchley but the main road works are set to start on Monday April 4.
TfL hopes to improve the traffic flow by creating "filter" lanes to increase the number of vehicles which can turn right off the junction onto Regents Park Road, Finchley Road and the A406 North Circular Road.
Signal controlled crossings will also be installed, making crossing the road easier for pedestrians and cyclists.
Lane restrictions and temporary traffic management will be put in place to ensure traffic can continue to travel throughout the area while the work is carried out.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson has prioritised the scheme because of its benefits for pedestrians, cyclists and traffic flow.
An exhibition about the scheme will be on show to provide more details about the work and the measures TfL will put in place to reduce disruption while the improvements are taking place.
The display can be seen at Chalgrove Primary School in Chalgrove Gardens, Finchley on Wednesday March 16 and Thursday March 17 from 5.30pm to 8pm, Saturday March 19 from 12pm to 3pm and on Sunday March 20 from 11am to 3pm.
The work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
