A SCHOOL in Golders Green has raised over £1,300 for children in Africa.
Pupils and staff at King Alfred School in North End Road handed a cheque to the Hampstead based charity, African Passions on Thursday March 10.
The school had held their Christmas Fair in aid of African Passions which was set up by one of its former students, 23-year-old Aaron Zipper and Harry Tyndall.
Through its Sports and Life Skills Development Project, the charity helps children in Kissi, Western Kenya gain life skills through participation in team sports and extra-curricular education.
The money raised by the school will go towards three football pitches, a classroom and an office.
Mr Zipper said: “King Alfred has been an integral part of where African Passions is today.
“As well as their amazing financial support they have also donated material items such as kits, boots, bibs and cones.”
Mr Tyndall said: “We are so excited that we can now put into place our plans to develop the project further.”
