STUDENTS and staff at a school in Barnet had a noisy visitor drop in from the sky last week.
An Air Ambulance helicopter landed in the basketball court at Whitefield School in Claremont Road after police were called to an incident in a street nearby.
Year 11 students were tackling a Mathematics examination when they were disturbed by vibrations and noise of the blades as the helicopter landed just outside the school hall.
For some of the students it was the first time they had seen a helicopter up close.
Dressed in orange jumpsuits five paramedics rushed out of the Air Ambulance to attend the incident, which turned out to be a false alarm.
After a few minutes the crew returned and took off again.
Whitefield School said it was pleased to be able to support the community.
