A STRING of power cuts have hit Mill Hill today which at one point left 1,500 homes without electricity.
Problems centred around The Ridgeway, Burtonhole Lane and Engel Park area when a fault on an underground cable cut the power just after 2pm.
However, within three minutes UK Power Networks claims 1,239 customers had their electricity back on, with 70 more back working by 2.57pm and another 172 just after 3.30pm.
Twenty homes are still affected by the problem with engineers working to fix the fault.
A statement from the company added: “We would like to reassure the remaining customers we are working to restore their supplies as quickly as is safely possible and apologise for any inconvenience.”
