A GROUP of young dancers from the borough of Barnet took to the stage to perform in the West End at the weekend.

Twenty pupils from Star Dance school in Oakwood demonstrated their skills in jazz and modern dancing at Her Majesty’s Theatre.

The youngsters aged between eight and 14-years-old performed to Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Love the Way You Lie by pop star Rihanna and rapper Eminem after rehearsing every week since October.

Deborah Lack, principal of Star Dance said: “Everyone was so enthusiastic it was a real buzz from the first rehearsal to the train journey home.

“I am so proud of every pupil and so pleased they put so much effort into making such an amazing opportunity truly magical.”

Ms Lack founded the dance school in 2004 for children as young as two years old.

Classes are available in ballet, tap, modern and street dance.
