AN ARKLEY teacher has been arrested along with two other people over an investigation into irregular bonus payments at a Wembley school.

Dr Richard Evans, 53, who has been teaching maths at Mill Hill County High School, in Worcester Crescent, since September, was arrested as part of the investigation into irregular payments at the Copland School.

The former Conservative party general election candidate is being questioned over conspiracy to defraud.

A 50-year-old woman was also arrested by officers at the same address on charges of conspiracy to defraud and theft.

Sir Alan Davies, 64, the former headteacher, is also being questioned in the inquiry at a north-west London police station.

Police have been looking into alleged financial irregularities at the school since 2009.
