MUSICAL youngsters from around the borough are developing their performance skills in preparation for a gig in North Finchley.
Bands and musicians are taking part in the Barnet Rock School’s Performance Course this week and will showcase their talent at the Great Rock 'n' Roll Circus 2011 at Artsdepot in Nether Street next Monday.
The programme is for young people aged between 13 and 19 and offers advice on instrumental and vocal techniques, sound and technical production, media exposure and presentation skills.
Five rock and indie bands are taking part in the project including last year’s headline act, Sunshine Superman who perform covers as well their own songs written by 18-year-old vocalist and guitarist, Morrison Marr from Friern Barnet.
Other groups include 10 Plagues, The Unarmed, heavy rock band Sayonara Sweetheart formed by guitarist Christofer Christoforou from The Compton School in Friern Barnet and The Flying Aubergines fronted by 14-year-old singer and songwriter Augusta Coca from Copthall School in Mill Hill.
The show will start at 7pm on Monday February 28 and will also include a performance by MCs and rappers from Rithmik Urban Music Studios in Mill Hill.
