A BARNET councillor is calling on Transport for London and Boris Johnson to expand a major school bus route.
Robert Rams (Conservative, East Barnet) has launched a petition to highlight problems with the 384 service, which runs between Cockfosters and High Barnet station.
The councillor claims the current timetable is not meeting the requirements of many schools on the route, such as Queen Elizabeth Girls and Jewish Community Secondary School (JCoSS).
Cllr Rams said: “We need to do all we can to encourage children to use public transport when getting to school, but with the timings of the bus, especially with JCOSS, they just don’t quite fit the opening hours of the school.
“The bus is also already full and with JCOSS expanding each yeah it is only going to get busier. The service between the two stations is vital – as it is the only link between the stations and the schools.”
An online petition has been set up at www.gopetition.com/petition/43072.html .
