A FEAST of dance awaits visitors to the Broadwalk shopping centre in Edgware next week.
It is planning a free Get Up Get Dancing event on Tuesday, which will offer children the chance to watch the experts from local dance schools before getting on the dance floor themselves for a workshop, with prizes given to the best movers.
There will be three performances by the Spotlight Performing Arts group at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
Julie Dolbear, a teacher with Spotlight, said: “We have performed at The Broadwalk Centre before, and we were delighted to be invited back – this time not only to perform, but also to encourage people to join in, learn a new skill, and most importantly – have fun.”
Dina Mistry, marketing manager at the Broadwalk Centre, said: “We are always hearing about the number of overweight children in the UK, and how children should exercise more.
“We wanted to offer local children the chance to take part in, and learn about different styles of dance, whilst at the same time making them aware that exercise can be fun.
“With George Sampson and male street dance crew Diversity both previous winners of Britain’s Got Talent, it suddenly became cool for boys to dance, and we hope that this event will be enjoyed by both boys and girls, and parents and grandparents too.”
