The rights of the citizens of the borough of Barnet are being eradicated day by day. Barnet Council is trying to take back money from the already over-burdened local taxpayers to compensate for its own incompetence.

We who live, work and drive in Barnet are being taxed again and again, totally unreasonably. We are told all services in the area are to be cut, but I haven’t seen anything to tell me the chief executive and upper levels of our local authority, as well as our council members, have taken a cut in their salaries or expense accounts. If we do not stand together and say, “enough is enough” and fight this council, we will only have ourselves to blame.

Parking wardens and parking meters have had no positive outcome for the people of Barnet. They are costing us money and we still have traffic jams and pollution.

If we all stop paying these fines, imposed purely as cash-cow measures, then perhaps we may get some sanity back into this borough? I urge us all to stop accepting trumped-up fines and restrictions, and join together for a just and true local society.
