PLANS have been drawn up to replace a medical centre in New Southgate, a year after it was destroyed by fire.
Two doctors surgeries were forced to share facilities with other practices after the Brunswick Park Medical Centre was gutted by fire on January 4, 2010.
Plans for a replacement, which would have been rolled in with a new library and children's centre, were scrapped last summer after Barnet Council and health bosses lost funding.
Now councillors have agreed with GPs to replace the building with temporary facilities which should be in place by the summer.
Brunswick Park representative and council leader Lynne Hillan said: “Of course another temporary building is not ideal, but it will give the GPs and their patients suitable accommodation for now.
“We will at some stage apply for further funding and take another look at our original proposals."
