MEMBERS are being sought for the creation of a new East Barnet community group dedicated to helping people cut down their energy use.
Wendy Alcock, 34, Jackson Road, is hoping to set up informal sessions in which residents share ideas on how to go 'green'.
Membership to East Barnet Eco Team would be free, with monthly meetings at the library in Brookhill Road.
Ms Alcock said: “It's about helping people reduce their energy use, while saving money along the way.
“Through monitoring utilities like gas and electricity, households can save an average of £170 a year - which is an important saving for families in the present climate.”
The East Barnet group will form part of a national campaign by Global Action Plan, an environmental charity, to encourage people to set up Eco Teams around the UK.
