A SEXUAL assault in a park in Potters Bar has led police to appeal for information from the public.
Two teenage girls were approached from behind by a man in Oakmere Park, in High Street, at 1.15pm on Wednesday.
After inappropriately touching one of them, the man walked toward the war memorial and girls ran to the basketball court.
Investigating officer, DC Clare Edlin said: “We believe there was a girl wearing a pink ‘puffa’ style jacket walking her dog by the bottom of the lake and I am very keen to speak with her as she may have witnessed the incident.
“I would reassure people that we are following a number of lines of enquiry and although the girls were shaken, they were not harmed.
“If you were the girl described, or if you were in the area and believe you saw the incident, I would urge you to contact police as soon as possible via the non emergency number on 0845 33 00 222. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
