A COUNTY councillor from Potters Bar has donated £400 to a support group for people with lung conditions.
Eddie Roach (Conservative, Potters Bar East) allocated the money from his locality budget to Breath Easy West Herts, part of the British Lung Foundation.
The group, which is run entirely on voluntary donations, will put the funding toward hall rental for meetings, newsletter printing and stationery.
Cllr Roach said: "Breathe Easy groups benefit people who have lung conditions and suffer from breathing difficulties by providing mutual support and help from talks by health professionals. I'm happy to play a small part in raising people's awareness of this very important issue."
Each Hertfordshire county councillor is given £10,000 to be used for worthy social, economic or environmental causes in the county. For information on how to apply, see www.hertsdirect.org
