A MAN with amnesia found wandering in a Mill Hill street last August has still not been identified.
Police have now released an image of the Asian man they believe may be Indian, who was discovered on August 29 in Albert Street with a cut on his ear.
He speaks only Punjabi, but could not tell officers who he was or how he got to Mill Hill, but said he came originally from Southall.
Inquiries with immigration officials have revealed he may have gone by the name of Maninder Singh.
He remains in hospital care, although police say he has gone missing from the unit several times.
PC Lisette French from the missing persons unit in Barnet said: "We hope that someone will recognise this man. He was found in a frail and confused condition despite being physically well but he has not regained his memory. “We have some information that his name may be or he may have used the name Maninder Singh in the past. We ask that anyone who recognises him call us on 0208 733 5017."
He is described as dark skinned, in his 40's, of thin build, with a grey beard when found he was wearing an orange turban, blue zip up jumper with blue stripes on the arms, denim jeans and black trainers.
