DOZENS of youngsters are set to take part in a rock and roll musical charity extravaganza at a Whetstone venue on Saturday afternoon.

The teenagers, all part of the Al Pascal music school, will be hoping to top the £2,600 they raised last year for Children in Need in the concert, raising cash for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Al Paschali, the music teacher, said the bands had been frantically rehearsing some classic and modern hits for the four-hour extravaganza at the IBar in the High Road.

He told the Times Series: “Last year we raised a lot of cash which was really good, but this year I think we can top it.

“We decided to support teenage cancer because it's something that resonates with the students. Everyone has been touched by cancer at some point and there's more we can do to help.

“It's also a good way for the kids to get experience performing. We have some really talented musicians here so I'm excited to see them go up on stage.”

Christmas classics will also be on the set lists to get people in a festive mood, with children's entertainers and face painters also adding to the atmosphere.

It starts at 12.30pm and tickets are £5 on the door.
