STUDENTS from a North Finchley college staged another walkout today to join huge protests in central London on the day MPs vote on whether to raise tuition fees.
Around 50 pupils of Woodhouse College in Woodhouse Road walked out after break time at 10.30am and boarded a bus to join the protests outside parliament.
The move follows a larger walkout two weeks ago which saw around 300 youngsters leave classes to vent their frustrations at plans which could see some universities charging up to £9,000 over year for courses.
Shayan Moghaddam, 17, said it was important to many youngsters to make their voice heard by MPs.
He said: “Today is a vital day, so it's important we all get together and make our voices heard. I was planning on taking a gap year but I've had to cancel that to avoid these fees.
“That means there will be more pressure on university places next year and make it even more competitive. I've actually got a scholarship from the army to study now.
“I think there will be a strong turnout for the full protest today, so hopefully MPs will take notice of us and not put through these reforms.”
