SCHOOLCHILDREN in Whetstone celebrated their different nationalities as part of a Festival Week.
Children at Queenswell Infant and Nursery School in Sweets Way studied festivals celebrated by religions practised in England.
Many of the pupils are bilingual and 37 languages are spoken at the multicultural school.
The children took part in a Chanukah workshop and studied Christian, Hindu and Muslim faiths.
They modelled clay divas for Diwali, weaved paper prayer mats for Eid, made advent calendars for Christmas and menorahs for Chanukah, and tasted food relevant to the festivals.
The week culminated in a cultural fashion show where the children modelled their national costumes on a cat walk.
Acting head teacher Margaret Baker said: "I felt so proud of the children who were clearly so eager to share their national identity with their peers.
"The whole week was a great success and the children learnt so much about the heritage of their peers."
