HENDON'S new MP is among 76 not to claim any expenses in the first three months of being in office, according to figures published by the new government watchdog.
Tory Matthew Offord claimed nothing for travel, office or staffing between May and August in the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) report published today.
IPSA was established this year following the furore over the revelation over some MPs expenses, in a bid to make the system more consistent and transparent.
New Finchley and Golders Green MP Mike Freer has claimed £1,665.19 in the same period, including £787.20 and £554.53 on chairs and desks for his office in June.
Chipping Barnet MP Theresa Villiers, a minister with the Department for Transport, claimed £2,814.68 for the three months after the General Election.
The largest single cost incurred was £2,408.75 for “pooled staffing services”, with the rest made up of minor stationery purchases and mobile phone hire.
In the same period Prime Minister David Cameron claimed £2,581.13 while Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg claimed nothing.
