I have lived in Mill Hill for more than 30 years and during that time have found it impossible as a pedestrian, in even moderate rain, to use the two pelican crossings either side of Mill Hill Circus.
On one crossing, the volume of water between the pavement and road is impassable and on the approach to the other, I get drowned by the deluge of water thrown up by passing traffic.
This means that whenever it does much more than drizzle, I cannot even reach a bus stop on Mill Hill Broadway or Watford Way.
Barnet Council is now asking residents for their ideas on how services can be maintained in a climate of severe financial cuts.
Perhaps these cuts won’t make that much difference as Barnet have not made essential improvements when they had more money to do so. Mike Lyons
