As a sometime public performer, myself, I know how disheartening it can be playing to a half empty room, particularly when you’re playing well. And it is ironic, that as a lifetime Barnet supporter, I should have missed their splendid 4-1 home win against Northampton Town.
They have been unlucky with a string of injuries to key players, but now it appears they are returning to full strength. Despite a poor start to the season, they are playing excellent football and with greater encouragement, will fight their way back up the table. With a “rub of the green” they could have had a deserved win against Charlton Athletic in the cup.
I appeal to all those lapsed Barnet fans to return to Underhill and get behind the team. They need, and are worthy of, more public support.
Come on guys and gals, get down there and give ’em a break.
