AN image of a “violent and dangerous” man who attacked a woman for the contents of her handbag has been produced by police.

The man attacked the 22-year-old from behind as she walked through an alleyway from Watling Avenue, Burnt Oak, towards Grahame Park at 11.35pm on Monday, November 15.

He told her to “give me your stuff” but she attempted to fight him off, at which point he tripped her to the ground and kicked and punched her before walking off with her handbag.

The attacker is described as black, 19 to 21 years old with a moustache. He was wearing a white hoody with black stripes on the arms, black trousers and trainers.

It is thought he had been watching his victim from across the road before he struck.

PC Chris Wall, the officer in charge of the case said: "This man is a clearly violent and dangerous individual who has viciously assaulted a woman for the contents of her bag.

"He has to be found and brought to justice as swiftly as possible to make our community and the streets of Barnet a safer place to live and work in."
