A ROCK thrown from a bridge in South Mimms near Potters Bar put drivers in “real danger” as it shattered the windscreen of a passing car, last Saturday.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the rock, thrown from the bridge on Cecil Road, smashed into a blue Nissan Almera travelling below on Swanland Road, South Mimms, at 12.15pm.
Sergeant Malcolm Dey from the Hatfield Neighbourhood Team said: “This reckless incident has potentially serious consequences and puts the lives of road users in real danger.
“Fortunately the driver was unharmed, however, they were very shaken.
“We take such incidents extremely seriously and we are fully investigating the matter. I would remind people that this offence is punishable by seven years in prison.”
