A FORMER star of EastEnders and The Bill will open a school fair in Hendon.
Lucy Speed, who played Natalie Evans in EastEnders and Detective Sergeant Stevie Moss in The Bill, will open the fair at 3pm at St Joseph’s Infant School, in Watford Way, on Friday, December 3.
The fair has been organised by the Friends of St Joseph’s School Association and runs until 6pm. It is one of the committee’s many fundraising events which helps raise money for school trips, equipment and facilities.
There will be a variety of Christmas stalls selling gifts such as perfume, books and cards.
Children can see a family of reindeer and receive a present from Santa in his grotto, costing £5 for one child and £12 for three.
Photographs will also be taken and adults accompany their children for free.
Helen Simmons, vice chair of the friends group, said: “It’s a great event for families to come along and enjoy.”
Ms Simmons, whose son Maximilian Simmons-Prendergast, seven, attends the school, added: “It’s a fun and cheap way to cheer everyone up – plus, you don’t get to see a reindeer every day.”
Entry into the fair is free and refreshments including mulled wine, hot dogs and warm chestnuts will be on sale.
For more information contact the school on 02082 025 229.
