STUDENTS with learning disabilities are the main beneficiaries of a new £100,000 basic skills area at Barnet College's Grahame Park campus.
The new wing boasts a sensory room allowing learners to explore sight, sound and touch, a community garden, classroom and kitchen facilities and disabled toilets.
Charles Nelson, head of skills development, said: "These facilities are important to our ambition to enhance our excellent reputation in learning disabilities and mental health education.
"We want every learner to make the very best of their time at Barnet College and it is important that we invest in the right facilities to make this happen."
Principal Marilyn Hawkins said she was “delighted” with the new area which she described as “important for Barnet and across London”.
