A MAN pleaded guilty yesterday to snatching a purse from an 84-year-old woman outside a synagogue in Edgware on Thursday.
Christian Molnar, from Burnt Oak Broadway, admitted the theft at Hendon Magistrates Court.
Police said the 34-year-old grabbed the purse, containing credit cards and about five pounds in cash, as the victim was the passing the Yeshurun Synagogue, in Fenhurst Gardens, Edgware.
He ran off but was later spotted by an off duty officer putting the purse in a bin, in Station Road, and arrested.
Officers said they were “strongly supported” by the synagogue, which provided CCTV evidence of the theft.
Molnar pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to be sentenced at the same court on December 3.
