THE MP for Hendon has revealed he was the victim of an attempt to infiltrate his Facebook account by a mysterious German.
Matthew Offord was targeted by someone using a mobile device, who attempted to break into his personal profile on the social networking site.
He was alerted to the attempted hack when he was frozen out of his account in September after someone had tried to enter his password incorrectly too many times.
Mr Offord said: “I'm not sure whether it was a targeted hack or if it was just a random thing, but it goes to show you have to be careful with things like passwords.
“Luckily Facebook were very good and they actually suspended my account for a couple of weeks while they worked out what was happening. I had to provide proof of who I was.
“Fortunately it all seems to have been cleared up now.”
