TELEVISION presenter Jonathan Ross will take a break from critiquing the latest silver screen blockbusters to review a series of scarecrows at flower show today.
The former Film 2010 host will judge the entrants in the annual scarecrow competition, along with his wife Jane Goldman, at the Hampstead Garden Suburb Horticultural Society's summer flower show this afternoon.
Mr Ross and his wife, who are the society's joint presidents, will open the show at 3pm at the Free Church Hall, in Northway.
Judging will begin at 3.45pm, with both adult and child entrants this year creating scarecrows along the theme of nursery rhyme characters.
Organisers said in addition to the usual “delightful sights and scents” of the flower show, the event will also include home-made cakes and teas and a small exhibition of Britain's miniatures.
Marjorie Harris, from the HGSHS, said: “Jonathan finds the decision-making of choosing the winners very difficult, so there are always plenty of prizes around for the children at least.”
Entry to the show costs £1 for non-members and is free for children.
