FURTHER tributes have been paid to a Hendon man killed in a crash at the weekend.
Friends who were close to Libor Kuchar, of Hendale Avenue, have described him as the “nicest person in the world” following his death on Sunday morning.
The 34-year-old was killed when a VW Golf drove onto the pavement in Hendon Lane and crashed into a bus stop, at around 2am.
The car then hit a lamppost and finally a wall, where it burst into flames, and was abandoned by the driver who left the scene.
Friends have left floral tributes at the scene, including one reading: “We'll never forget you, you will always be in our heart”.
Maria, 27, who lived with Libor, a Slovakian national, said: “He was the nicest person in the world. We met in London but we are from the same country.
“He was the kindest person. He would help you with anything and never expected anything from you.
“It's just unbelievable and a big loss. He had a lot of friends. We have friends who are expecting him to come around again but I don't know how to tell them.”
She added that the pair were more like family than friends.
“He was like a brother to me. We lived together for four years and we just talked about everything,” she said.
“My kids grew up with him and thought he was their uncle. We didn't have a blood relationship but we were just very close.”
Another pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was also injured in the crash and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Libor worked at McDonald's, in Highgate Hill, starting on the bottom rung of the ladder in 2005 but working his way up to become a manager.
And Maria described the horror of the moment when the crash happened. After speaking to the surviving friend, she said: “He was just talking to his friend and his friend turned round and he was not there any more.
“It happened to good people.”
Friends have arranged a memorial drink for Libor at the Archway Tavern, in Archway Road, from 6pm tonight.
