This week, Busy Bees Nursery in Shenley has been taking part in a Heroes open week, culminating in a Family Fun Day on Saturday, June 12.
Throughout the week the nursery has raised money for members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country, with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes.
Activities during the week have included making flags, sports day, Father's Day breakfast and a visit from local Hero, Squadron Leader Dan Yeoman, a Navigator on Tornado Fighter Bombers in the Royal Air Force. Dan has been flying the Tornado for more than eight years and has conducted six operational tours over Iraq from 2001 to 2007. He has also seen service in the Former Republic of Yugoslavia and Northern Ireland.
Nursery Manager, Mia says: “We are very proud to be supporting Help for Heroes, and all those brave men and women in the British army who have been overseas.
"We hope the nurseries efforts will go some way to improving the lives of those injured and show our thanks for their courage.”
