BARNET and Chase Farm Hospitals have the highest minimum parking charges in the country according to research by consumer watchdogs Which?
Hospital sites in Wellhouse Lane and The Ridgeway. are the most expensive places to park, charging a minimum of £4 for two hours.
The consumer group sent out Freedom of Information requests to 176 Trusts and complied a list from the 126 replies it received.
The Royal United Hospital, in Bath, was named the best in the UK, while Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust were worst for clamping with 1,671 cars clamped in 2008/9.
Which? is now calling for an overhaul of regulations to ban hospitals from clamping and towing cars and the introduction of concessions for regular visitors.
