Barnet College hosted a spectacular event to showcase the work of more than 20 students at its Wood Street centre.
The outdoor display, called Digital Light, was jointly organised by Barnet College and the A5 Partnership, and involved projecting digitally produced light effects onto huge metal 'screens' to create stunning effects, colours and shapes.
Digital Light was a reflection of the A5 Partnership's theme for this year, the global environment.
The partnership is a lottery-funded initiative involving seven local groups, including Barnet College, Barnet African Community Forum, Cherry Lodge Cancer Care and Barnet NHS Primary Care Trust.
Its overall aim is to promote the health and wellbeing of marginalised groups living in Barnet, but it is also involved with helping people to express themselves through the creative arts.
Event organiser Cherstyn Hurley said: "This is a landmark event for the college, providing an insight into the creative opportunities which the college and its committed staff provide for its many hardworking students."
Digital Light was a celebration of the work undertaken by students on public art and multimedia courses at the college. As well as the light show, there were displays on environmental themes, including information on local recycling initiatives.
Mayour of Barnet, Andreas Tambourides and his wife were among many dignitaries to attend.
The A5 Partnership has previously undertaken projects on the theme of healthy living, and work can be viewed by visiting www.A5home.co.uk online.
