Danny's is perfect for any dining occasion

Danny's is one of those rare restaurants that is equally suitable for either a quick snack, a light lunch or a long leisurely dinner with friends.

Perfectly positioned in Station Road in Edgware, Danny's is owned by father and son team Jacob and Danny Karmaz, and served a delicious menu of Israeli and Mediterranean food, together with some classic steaks, burgers and salads.

Inside, the fully licensed, air-conditioned restaurant is light and spacious, with nice touches like fresh roses on the tables, and a relaxed, chilled-out atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful and happy to make recommendations from their delicious menu of mouthwatering Israeli specialities.

Staters include a huge range of Israeli hors d'oeuvres, all prepared on site by their Israeli chef. There are also daily specials, including home-made soup to keep out the winter chills.

I was tempted by the mixed hors d'oeuvres, a meze-style mixture of creamy hummus with crisp, light home-made falfel, Russian salad, rich aubergine salad and fresh and crunchy salads of coleslaw, red cabbage and tomatoes and cucumber. The salads were accompanied by some wonderfully fat, fluffy pitta bread - perfect for mopping up the sauce.

The main course menu again reflects some traditional Israeli favourites, such as the succulent and flavoursome shawarma, or the shishlick kebab, which is available either as turkey, lamb or chicken, skewered and cooked until tender. If you have difficulty deciding, you might try the mixed grill - a selection of meat all cooked to perfection over the charcoal grill. All the meat served at Danny's is Kosher, although the restaurant itself does not claim kosher status.

Desserts include a decdent warm chocolate cake and Belgian waffles, as well as indulgent daily specials to help you finish your meal on a sweet note.

As well as being open for lunch and dinner seven days a week, Danny's can also cater for parties and functions for up to 50 people.
