I wish Gavin Williams and his assistants well for the plans for Forty Hall to stage a re-enactment of the events of November 5, 1605.
However as Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators failed in their bid to blow up the Houses of Parliament, I don't really see the need for a firework display.
Will we be celebrating the lives of today's terrorists in years to come? Of course not.
Surely it is time for this so-called celebration each year to be consigned to the history books.
Fireworks are dangerous, they kill, they maim, terrify people and animals and should all be banned.
