Because we hear and read so much criticism about Chase Farm Hospital, I wish to add my words of praise.
On June 30, I had reason, and permission, to stay with a patient in Napier Ward from 4.30pm until 8am the next day.
Admittedly I cannot report on a 24-hour period, however, I was greatly impressed by the quality of physical care, patience, genuine kindness and harmony between staff.
The sum of these things provided a peaceful context for various forms of healing.
