THE MP for Hendon has branded an ongoing rail dispute which is causing problems for commuters in the borough as “stupid”.
Passengers have been facing severe delays as only around 12 services each day pass through Mill Hill Broadway, Hendon and Cricklewood stations on the Thameslink after drivers chose not to work overtime in a dispute over pay and conditions.
Speaking in the House of Commons yesterday Andrew Dismore urged bosses on the line to come up with a solution to end delays which have been plaguing commuters for more than a month.
Mr Dismore said:“I know many commuters in my constituency are becoming increasingly frustrated at the length of time this stupid dispute is taking to resolve.
“It is vitally important that some common sense is brought to the table, and the dispute is settled promptly.”
A spokesman for First Capital Connect said an improved offer has been made to the ASLEF union which is going to be discussed by the executive on Monday or Tuesday.
He added it is hoped the services will get back to normal after that and advised passengers to check the company's website for up to date information.
