ENTRIES have started coming in for the Times-Series' good deed day competition.
Any group, charity or organisation who needs a project completed by volunteers can send their ideas in to the news team who will then select the winning task and help carry it out on November 15.
Suggestions across the Mitzvah Day spectrum so far range from gift collecting to gardening to dancing and decorating.
Vinci Construction UK are currently building the Arts, Technology and Media department of Middlesex University which is on St. Joseph's Grove.
They have suggested volunteers come and help tidy, repair and maintain some of the allotments near the building site.
They intend to supply skips for helpers to dump their rubbish in before it sent for recycling.
Their entry claims they “want to make this a fun day for people to get involved to improve the local environment for all”.
Jewish Care have invited the news team to go to one of their care homes and work with the residents and staff to plant urns of flowers and bulbs.
Jacqueline Nortman, corporate communications marketing manager for the charity, said: “ It is a fun and interactive way of working together while performing a good deed.
“The residents will not only get to enjoy the end result but will have great fun in chatting to the news team while getting their hands dirty.”
If you need a similar task carried out or have any project at all that needs tackling, get in touch and let us know.

What is Mitzvah Day?
It's not about asking for money, it's about volunteering to give your time to support a good cause in the community for one day.
It is very much an interfaith, interracial, intercultural event for people of all ages and backgrounds that will benefit anyone who needs a project to be done.
Projects can be run from religious buildings, community centres, or by organisations anywhere out in the community where there is need for a good deed.
