If there ever was a ‘Black Saturday’ this was it! A lot of late drop outs accumulating to 8 changes for the 5ths and hardly two goalkeepers to rub together. Perhaps it was not so surprising that we were wiped out in all games.
The 1sts were unlucky not to fair better against Esthamians but a plus was the continuing return to form from Rob Laney who grabbed a goal along with Rob Harris.
The 2nds again made heavy weather of a cup game but this time were made to suffer. They never got into gear against a robust but unsophisticated opposition who found a long hoof downfield was enough to create fatal indecision in our defence.
The 3rds had a much tougher fixture against the runaway winners of Div 1 last season and they were unlucky not to get something out of the game. Winchmore only lost one game all last season!
The 4ths ended their winning run with another close encounter with Winchmore.
The 5ths conceded a few soft goals, which put them 0-3 down, but a spirited comeback was in vain. They were much more in the game than the score line might suggest.
The 7ths threw away 3 points after leading 2-0 and in cruise-control before losing with literally the last kick of the game.
