Lieutenant John LE Prendy, 21, was a young pilot stationed at Eglinton near Londonderry 1948 and his family lived in Edgware.
I think he had seen service overseas and was test-flying a Sea Fire aeroplane (like a Spitfire) over the city in February 1948, but unfortunately crashed and was killed.
He is buried near Londonderry and I am anxious to find out something of his background, such as any family connections today, old photographs or any scrap of information at all. I work at the University of Ulster but this search relates to an article for historical magazine Waterside Voices.
