AN ENTREPRENEUR from Barnet has successfully completed a 300-mile cycle ride and raised thousands of pounds for charity.
Gary Livermore, owner of Kall Kwik Barnet, in High Street, saddled up with six team-mates last week to support Action Medical Research.
They cycled 270 miles to raise £6,600 for the charity's Touching Tiny Lives appeal, which funds research into preventing life-threatening pregnancy complications, reducing premature birth and improving care for sick and vulnerable babies.
Mr Livermore said: "As a keen road cyclist, the London to Paris bike ride provided the perfect challenge for me to focus my fundraising efforts.
"Action Medical Research has played an integral role in medical breakthroughs over the last 50 years and the Touching Tiny Lives appeal is dedicated to the little understood and under-funded area of care for the under-ones.
"Our team was very well supported and I am thrilled to report that we have raised such a significant amount of money for a very worthy cause."
The four-day ride was undertaken by more than 400 cyclists from across the country.
Participants set off from Blackheath on July 22 and crossed the finish line under the Eiffel Tower on July 25, the day before the Tour de France riders.
