A SHED containing a flammable gas cylinder was gutted by a fire in Friern Barnet.
The timber property in Colney Hatch Lane, near the junction with Bobby Moore Way, caught fire last night at about 12.45am.
Four fire crews from Hornsey, Finchley, Barnet and Hendon, and about 20 firefighters, attended the scene but were unable to save the building.
Breathing apparatus was used to help crews tackle the flames.
A large propane cylinders were found in the shed and firefighters spent about four hours hours cooling the area to ensure there was no chance of an explosion.
The London Fire Brigade said investigations were still on going into the cause of the blaze, but police said it is not thought to be suspicious.
