PARENTS have raised £10,000 for computer equipment at a Friern Barnet school.
The money, handed over to Holly Park School this morning, will be spent on 32 laptops, two laptop trolleys and a new internet server.
The parent/teacher association (PTA) raised the money at the school summer fair, in Bellevue Road, last weekend, along with craft stalls, competitions and parties.
It is the most the PTA has ever raised for the school.
Headteacher John Maxwell said: "We got a really good Ofsted report at the last inspection, but one of the areas to improve was our computer technology.
"When the PTA heard this, they decided to help raise money for us.
"The amount they raised is absolutely brilliant, more than we could ever have dreamed of, and it will have a huge impact.
"Before we only had 16 fixed computers, so this has made our information technology teaching much more flexible."
PTA chairwoman Aqila Agha said: "We wanted to raise as much money as possible for the school and engage as many parents in the process as we could, including those whose children will be joining the school in September.
"I think this shows what a good relationship parents and teachers have at the school.
"Everyone was very supportive and the money raised was fantastic."
