A BARNET woman has been given a suspended jail sentence for spitting at and hitting two ticket inspectors on a bus.
Sandra Rose, 39, of Simmons Way, was sentenced to three months in prison, suspended for two years, at Hendon Magistrates' Court last Tuesday.
Rose was approached by the ticket inspectors on an 82 bus on February 5 and after arguing with them she spat at them, hit them both in the face before getting off the bus.
She was caught on CCTV cameras and later traced and arrested.
Chief Superintendent Joe Royle, Transport Operational Command Unit said: "People who think they can cause violence and disruption on the transport network and get away with it are wrong.
“We are determined that all offenders of bus crime are brought to justice and we will leave no stone unturned in our endeavour to do so.”
Rose pleaded guilty to three charges of common assault part of the way through a trial at Hendon Magistrates' Court, after initially denying the offences.
