CRIME and safety will top the agenda at a community meeting tomorrow.
The first meeting of the Barnet’s Community Safety Engagement Group (BCSEG) will be held at North London Business Park (NLBP) in Oakleigh Road South.
Hosted by the Barnet Voluntary Service Council, the meeting will include representatives from voluntary organisations, neighbourhood watch schemes and community sports clubs, as well as senior officers from Barnet Police.
Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Neil Basu, and Chief Inspector Ben Bennett will begin the meeting by discussing their role in the new group.
Anahied Hatamian, BCSEG Coordinator, said she hopes the initial meeting will create a group of “enthusiastic members”.
She said: “This is a great opportunity for people who have a real interest in community safety to come together and form the foundations of a new community engagement group for Barnet.”
Future meetings will give members the opportunity to meet other senior police officers, borough councillors, the probation service and the court service to raise any issues and concerns.
The meeting will be held in the emerald suite at the NLBP from 5pm to 8pm.
Anyone interested in attending the event or wanting more information can telephone Anahied Hatamian at BVSC on 020 8364 8400 or e-mail anahied.hatamian@barnetvsc.org.uk
