RECYCLING facilities for residents in flats are being rolled out in Potters Bar.
Communal bins for paper, plastic bottles and cans will be installed at apartment blocks in Shillitoe Avenue, Kimptons Mead and Kimptons Close next week.
Councillor Jean Heywood, cabinet member for the environment, said: "Hertsmere is currently recycling at a rate of around 40 per cent, which is really great news, and the facilities at flats will help us build on this and divert even more waste from landfill.
"We will continue to work with local housing associations and management organisations to install facilities at other flats in Potters Bar and across the borough."
The bins will be labelled with what can go in them and residents can use them as soon as they are in place.
Paper will be collected one week, and plastic bottles and cans will be collected the following week.
Normal waste that cannot be recycled will continue to be collected from communal bins on a weekly basis.
Full details of the scheme will be delivered to homes as and when the scheme rolls out.
